The awkwardness of a TH8 Layout is that many important defense components come in 3 (3 Mortars, 3 Air Defenses, 3 Wizards. Not to mention 3 Gold and 3 Elixir Storages. In this base I have not yet purchased the 3rd Gold and Elixir Storages to reduce the number of storages needing protection. The layout is made to contain and group items in 3s, allowing for even distribution air defense, splash damage, and single damage distributed to the 4 corners completing the base. An added bonus is that the base looks kind of like optimus prime's head or michael bay's megatron head depending on how you look at it.
